At first glance this place looks a little touristy, there's a Bakery and to go food downstairs which has fast service and a good selection, they bake sourdough breads into animal shapes as well we ate upstairs in the restaurant . Wow . Great food and service! And even better views. This was the Best steak sandwich I've ever had!! which I'd say isn't common in a seafood kinda town....

The family always enjoys a visit to San Francisco. The bread bowl of your choice of soup is popular. It's always busy with people and lots of stores to visit. They had a huge Christmas tree decorated in the courtyard. Looking across the water is a clear view of Alcatraz.

Great cafe and restaurant. It is nice to be able to see how they make the bread. We usually come here after seeing various sites throughout the City. We can take a break here, get a snack and drink, and buy some souvenirs. The food is excellent and the staff are helpful and responsive.

One of my favorite places to eat in San Francisco. It's tough to decide between the chili in the bread bowl or the clam chowder in the bread bowl. They are both awesome. This is the best sour dough bread I've ever had!!! I have also had sandwiches here and they are great too.

For the first time I saw bread crafting or artistry in display. The bakery had a transparent glasses overlooking the street. We could see how doughs were processed and made into different shapes.
Boudin also has a bakery museum showcasing the history of their business and how the have sustained their brand. You pay a token to tour the facility.
You get to have the smell and taste some breads too.
