Flore on Market

Tremendously enjoyed my lunch at Flore today. Excellent service, wonderfully delicious flank steak salad and crabmeat with sundried tomato mac 'n cheese. Ambience was perfect too. I love how the glass walls just bring in the natural light even on this rainy day. The red accents around, the ceiling fans and Mediterranean chandeliers makes this elegant rustic place very chic. If there is anything that can make this place even better, maybe add a little more slivered almonds on the salad and less sodium but more cheese on the mac and cheese. But you know what, this must have been an afterthought as I'm sure it did not matter when i was eating. Perhaps i was forcing myself to find fault. Thank you Matt for making lunch with my daughter, who was visiting from college, extra special. I would love to challenge you though on the margarita. Something I think I make better.

Food and service have improved a lot since the last time I was there (about a year ago or more). Breakfast/brunch menu was everything I wanted. Service was on point. Great outdoor location as always.

This is the most authentic hangout spot for coffee, drinks and good food in the Castro. I've been going there for years - back when the Persian brothers owned and ran the place. They looked exactly alike, so it was as if the one guy was ALWAYS there no matter what time of day or week you stopped in. There is plenty of inside and patio/sidewalk seating - the steak salad is my favorite item on the extensive menu and they make big drinks. Check it out if you want to avoid the stereotypical coffee shop - it's anything but that.
