True Laurel

Can one ever live up to the hype? A resounding yes. Food, check. Libations, check. Great times with friends that occurs when that witches brew of food and drink ignite, check. A perfect place for sobramesa.

We came around the holidays (12/27) so with people out of town is was relatively easy to find a table around 7. While it filled up, I didn't see much of a wait.

The Patty Melt lives up to the hype and is one of the most delicious things I've eaten in the last year, but all around the menu excels. Cocktails were solid and would definitely return.

Service was top notch and responsive as well.

True Laurel is one of the best cocktail bar I have been to in the city . Some places do good cocktails, some have great bartenders, some have a good ambiance - true laurel has all of this plus a food menu :D and it is in a relatively clean neighborhood

(my biggest peeve with going to a place like Bourbon and Branch is the sketchy neighborhood with I don't know what on the street)

My husband and I are definitely past that age where we can down 2+ cocktails on a weekday night but we meticulously went through most of the drinks on their menu - they all looked so creative and interesting and we were curious how they'd taste. i think quinine cobbler was our favorite . Can't wait to return. Also if you are in bar hopping mood, Trick Dog is next door as well as Farmhouse kitchen for food.

Great cocktails. Good service. Good lighting. Prices are too high though - that drags down the overall rating.

This was really a fantastic restaurant. I got a mezcal cocktail, and we shared the oysters, scallops, and patty melt.

The cocktail was absolutely excellent -- probably one of the best I've had in some time. The oysters and scallops were likewise to-die-for; the oysters were incredibly fresh and the scallops were cooked just perfectly. I thought the patty melt was just okay -- it did its job of filling us up, but the flavor was not on par with the other items.

This is somewhere I would certainly return to -- probably for a special occasion, given the price.
