Excellent place. Had the burger, fries lobster mac n cheese was excellent. Daughter had ahi poke bowl was good also. Great vibe.
5 stars for value. 3 stars for service.
The food has so far been really tasty. Occasionally a little more that I’d like to pay (pretzels, I’m looking at you) but great value and quality for the most part. Really good burger.
The beer list is also pretty good, something for everyone in there.
Unfortunately, the beertenders don’t really know what they’re serving. I wish there was a list of what’s in can and bottle in their fridge because when I ask the answer is usually a hands up shrug of the shoulders. ??♂️
Food service staff, the people that bring your food to the table, are really nice and helpful. Best to leave them a little tip with your dirty dishes.
The backyard is such a nice place to hang out in Paso Robles. It’s kid friendly which I appreciate and also great for just hanging out with friends. The food from Roots on Railroad is delicious, and I love that The Backyard has such a great selection of local beer and wine.
My favorite bartender is Alison. She is always in a great mood and has great recommendations about which beer or wine to try.
We love coming here. Great atmosphere, great beer selection, and great options for food. Everyone is always very friendly. Last time, my daughter brought her dolls to play and one of the staff (sad to say I didn't ask his name) brought over a high chair for her dolls, which totally made her day. :)
My wife and I saw this awesome outdoor location while having breakfast in downtown Paso. We decided we wanted to stop in for dinner and drinks after our day at the pool and a couple wine tastings. We had amazing creative food and some great beers and wines. The selection of beer and wine here is top notch, and the location and ambiance of the place is just as great! We were able to catch SNF, have some drinks and food all while being able to socially distance easily. Unfortunately our phones died while we were enjoying ourselves. I was speaking to the man serving me a beer (who I didn't know at the time was the owner) and he called and paid for an uber for us back to our hotel. If that isn't the type of business you want to support, I don't know what is. We will definitely be coming back to the Backyard, and will be telling all our friends to visit here as well.
