The Grinning Bear

Went for the fried chicken. It is fabulous. Discovered the Bon Mi on our second visit. Also spectacular. Great food and great service. Probably my favorite food truck in the 5 cities area.

The Grinning Bear is a hidden gem- originating as a stellar food truck- it found its home in a partnership with the Pierside Marketplace. Make no mistake: this is one of the best restaurants in the county. On my personal list, it's only second to Piadina on Wednesday nights, but only if you're in the mood for an expensive plated dinner. For every other occasion, the Grinning Bear reigns supreme! And it's easy to see why. The owner is passionate, involved, and a genius. The food is high quality, the flavors are balanced, and it pulls no punches. The Fire Bird with Scorchin' sauce is my go-to, and it's the best fried chicken I've ever had. Locals and tourists alike, you can't afford to miss it!

BEST fried chicken in the county! And BEST burger in the county too! RUN, don't walk, to go get yourself some!

We went to pismo beach on last weekend and had lunch at the grinning bear, I must say it is one of the best place to get sandwiches, onion ring and if you are fan of waffle-chicken with maple syrup then please. try out.
It was a truck before but they move to one of the shop, has sitting area and enjoying yummy food. I will recommend to all friends.

Probably the best burger in pismo! Actual wagyu beef! Super nice cooks! Chill spot! So good! I’ll be back for sure!
