Great new addition to the Westlake Mall! Glad to see more Korean restaurants opening up in SF. We came at 12pm and within 10 mins, the restaurant started to fill up. It's not very big so if you want a spot, highly recommend coming before 12:30pm. We ordered the small order of honey and cheese korean fried chicken and their Jjam-Jja-Myeon. The honey and cheese powder was really good. It's cheesy and sweet, almost like the sour cream and cheese ruffle chips. There werent a lot of wings and drumsticks - mostly breast pieces for the small order. :/ The Jjam-jja-myeon was a 3.9/5. I really liked Jjamppong and it had a nice smokey flavor to it. I don't do too well with spice but it was bearable. The jajangmyeon was okay. A bit too salty. Wish the black bean sauce was fried. Service was good and efficient.

Final Four 🏀 Basketball and the bracket. Nobody knew these teams would make it this far! I'm honestly not a big fan of college hoops but don't mind watching the games w/ friends while biting into juicy fried chicken from Chick & Jajang ( Daly City). They have Four different flavors to choose from including: plain, chili, soy& garlic and honey. The plain ones are my personal favorite! Crunchy outer layers and moist and tender chicken meat. Oh, I'm glad I don't have to drive as far to Santa Clara or the East Bay for some jajangmyeon 자장면 noodles either!
This place took over what used to be Broosters. Chicken was really flavorful and juicy. Got the soy garlic. Sweet, crunchy, juicy, everything you could want from Korean fried chicken.
Got the jjam-Jangh myeon. It was good. Noodles had a really good texture. Like the size and held up well with the soups and sauces. Fair warnings I'm bias, not a fan of onions, and there was A LOT of it in both dishes. The ones in the jajangmyeon were a little too big...lots of big chunks that I wasn't a fan of.
Also orders the fried rice. Good flavor, same sauce, same large chunks. Very large portion of rice.
I would go back for the chicken and for 2 people a small chicken and maybe share another entree.
Nice. Very nice Korean fried chicken at Chick & Jajang. They are an authentic Korean fried chicken restaurant. The cashier/waiter speaks fluent Korean. I started with the #1 - jajangmyeon (black bean sauce noodles) $13. The black bean sauce smelled wonderful and tasted even better. The noodles were homemade and tasted fresh. The only drawbacks were the black bean sauce could have been thicker and it didn't contain that many pieces of cabbage, onions, pork or zucchini. Next I had the #10 chili Korean fried chicken $15. This was great! The sweet and sauce overloaded the fried chicken. In order to retain the crunch, I had to eat these fast. I ordered it medium spicy and it wasn't that spicy at all. They put some chopped peanuts on top of the chicken which I found weird. Luckily, I don't have a peanut allergy. Service was fine.
Super yummy! Went for lunch with my family and the food was great and service was quick and friendly
Ja-jang-myeon: The noodles were FRESH and the black bean sauce was very good
Gan-ja-jang: My mom said this is harder to find in the bay area and was very excited they had it and said it was delicious
Jjam-Bbong: Spicy, rich and perfect for a cold day. Generous portion of mussels and shrimp
Fried chicken: yum! my favorite was Soy Garlic and Spicy Chili Popcorn Chicken
Overall we had a great experience. I’m excited that there is a jajang restaurant in the peninsula and will definitely be coming back
