The location and ambience is great. The food was mediocre to my taste buds. The soup was good but besides that our brunch dishes and tuna tarter were okay.
Fantastic experience with modern American cuisine and a Bay Area focus. Upscale but casual (you can dress the part, but don't need to), with a very approachable menu of American fare. Locally-sourced, sustainable food prepared in an open kitchen. Relaxed but vibrant dining area, with indoor and patio seating. The dishes are creative, comfortable, and delicious. Extensive wine selection. Come early and have a drink at the bar next door (The Library & Bar). Be sure to leave room for dessert! Allow 2-3 hours. Vegetarian dishes. I wouldn't call this family-friendly, more of a night out or a business dinner spot.
Went there for dinner. I like the vibe on Friday night, cozy and cheerful. Food was delicate and flavorful :) The bon-bon collection is pretty cute and delicious.
Wonderful food. Very swanky place, but they didn't bat an eye when I arrived in my plaid flannel and jeans. A decent number of vegan options on the menu and wait staff who knew what that meant.
The staff are always trying to make you happy. The drinks pack a punch--the bartender squeezes all the fruits fresh, and they actually taste good, unlike a lot of awful specialty cocktails you might bite on other places for lots of money. I always take the descriptions home for my own parties. New ideas for every season, and fun!
The chefs are really good--the food is very edible, not just stacked up overly- played- with piles of salt and fat. There is such a place as an expense account destination, and this isn't that--this is a real restaurant for travelers and people who want good food, not just a depressing exercise in conspicuous consumption.
