Great service and great food! During my visit, their staffing seem pretty short but the effort to accommodate was not. They worked hard to find a place to seat us and the food was served efficiently and tasted great! I look forward to coming back and trying other options from their menu.
Why doesn't this scale go up to six? I need to give these folks an extra star.
I was staying at the La Quinta before I flew out and didn't want to drive anywhere for dinner. Thank goodness! Laziness has finally paid off! I was not disappointed with my choice, and this is the dinner I'd been looking for all week. I went ahead and ordered the wagyu steak and I also got the miso soup and rice to go with it. I rounded out my order with some of their house hot sake and a mango soda (yes, I'm weird, but I had a plan, bear with me...).
The restaurant, despite sharing a building with the hotel, is top notch. The decor is classic and tasteful Japanese artwork and accents. The lighting is a bit bright, but it is fine for the atmosphere, which reflects more of a traditional, lively sushi bar than a quiet dining hall. The service is fantastic, and everyone working there pays attention to you. They check often to ensure the food is satisfactory and that you have all you need. I was never once left needing or wanting anything at my table.
The food and drink were stellar. The sake was hot, aromatic, and perfectly bittersweet. It wasn't as knock-out-punch strong as some sake I've had, but was very balanced, having a great kick without being overpowering. The miso soup is seriously some of the best I've ever had. Large strips of seaweed, plenty of tofu, and a broth that is to die for. The wagyu was incredible. Buttery, tender, and cooked perfectly to order, this steak is the stuff carnivore dreams are made of. While pricy, it's worth every penny. They brought me a small shaker with black truffle salt in it, and along with the other seasonings they bring with the steak, I indulged in one of the finest things I've ever eaten. The rice was also truly excellent, and I ate it without any soy sauce.
I finished off my dinner with the mango soda, which was delicious and offered a sweet end to a fabulous meal. It acted as a perfect dessert.
I'm already planning on when I'm coming back here, and I'm absolutely bringing loved ones to share this place with. Outstanding.
Just ate here.. such a. Awesome place and awesome staff!! Especially the cute waitress that attended us.. but food was great over all.. the tofu soup was delicious along with the steak.. definitely coming back!!
Good - Great steak! Great service.
Bad - Bright lights Hotel lobby feel
Ugly - Parking. Park in the underground lot.
We will go back for more.
The steak was very jucy and soft. All dishes are so authentic that I can't think of any word to describe. The only problem is shortage of the staffs. You may expect to wait a little bit longer during the peak hours.
