The Siu Mai with Shrimp Roe, even though it looks a bit funny, is really flavorful and enjoyable. The Baked BBQ Pork Buns steal the spotlight with their tasty seasoned pork inside a slightly sweet and crispy bun. Each bite is full of flavor and texture. While the BBQ Rice Noodle Rolls are just okay, the overall experience at Yan Peninsula is outstanding.”

“This place is a perfect choice for late-night BBQ and skewers. The flavors hit just the right note, and you’re given peppers, salt, and hot peppers to adjust the seasoning to your liking. I particularly recommend the chicken skin and the beef artery. These items are notoriously difficult to prepare well and can easily be ruined, but this restaurant handles them masterfully! The chicken skins are crispy without being oily, and the beef artery is tender yet soft—an impressive feat. Considering the quality, everything is priced very reasonably, especially given the Bay Area location. The lamb and seafood options are equally delicious. I can’t think of anything I would advise you to avoid. I will definitely be coming back!”

“This place is located right next to the bart station with a small parking lot in the back. I noticed all the high reviews for their clay pot rice and wanted to try it out. I ordered on my phone for take out since I knew the rice would take a while to cook and planned to just eat there. (I assumed it was cafeteria style based on photos.) When we got there, I realized that you actually order from the table you're seated through a QR code. They also charge an automatic service fee. However, since I ordered prior, the rice was done almost as soon as we were seated. I noticed not many people had ordered rice, but were eating soup noodles as the restaurant is also with grapeholic and social eatery. Since I ordered takeout, the bowls came in foil to go containers. We ordered the eel bowl and pork rib with chicken bowl. We were definitely skeptical of how the food was going to be in the take out containers. But the food was great! The meat was well seasoned with generous portions and went really well with the rice. The rice was cooked perfectly, with the perfect crisp you expect from a clay pot. The bowls are definitely meant to be an individual size. It came with soy sauce, but I felt that the food was salty enough without it. I was really impressed with how the rice came out, considering the food came out in aluminum bowls. I would absolutely order from here again. The food was prepared quickly and really well. I think that the food is really good for take out since you would definitely have to wait at least 20 minutes for the bowl. The only thing I wish was there were some more vegetable options, but for clay pot rice, the food was cooked perfectly and the ingredients were high quality.”

“We tried this 🆕 restaurant in Millbrae for lunch. They have a decent offering for lunch plates 🍽️ at $9.9, which I felt was a great value for both the food quality and the quantity. The tofu with pork was really nice. The steamed rice rolls were a revelation. The braised duck 🦆 with ginger was just okay. Staff is friendly and they try to do their best in spite of some language barriers. We'll definitely return for more!”

“Come with as many people as you can, so you can order all the items! They are all generously priced. This is a food truck run by the daughter and father/sushi chef of the Sushi Kei family. We pretty much ordered everything-rice balls, curry, a5 wa-gyu don special, fruits sando, and yakisoba pan. The fruit salad in the sando isn't just whipped cream and fruit-its got a slight tang and not too sweet. Highly recommend. The rice ball rice isn't smashed rice and comes with lots of filling unlike the other onigiri that has a mashed rice texture. The chicken katsu was very tender and the sauce had some additional spices which were very good! The rice in all the dishes is high quality and fresh. All the food is anime themed and worth getting just to see the food art. The onigiri is cute and looks back at you while you're eating it. It even comes with kompeito! Check their Instagram for specials (today was A5 wagyudon) and they are closed on rainy days.”
