Be warned: sharable portions! The staff was extremely helpful with recommendations and kind to talk to (they even make their own hot sauce). The food was great. I'd never had Eastern European/Central Asian food and was in for a treat.
Couldn't pronounce a single thing so the helpful server picked a dinner for us. Everything was great. We had the red soup, Great stuff. Other dishes all had unique flavors.
It is a must try stop. We will be back to try more dishes.
Delicious delicious delicious. The borch and olivie are definitely the best in the bay. We also enjoyed noodles with beef, as well as plov which had a lot of great aroma and flavors.
Excellent Kyrgyz food, located conveniently next to the San Carlos Caltrain station. The staff were friendly, polite and fast. The samsy were perfect - plump and full of meat, juicy on the inside and flaky on the outside. Manti were perfectly steamed and also full and juicy! They reminded me of the kind I got from street vendors in Bishkek! I had the Kuurdak lamb and potatoes, well spiced and topped with plenty of fresh veggies: onions, tomatoes, and dill. The carrot salad was also fresh and subtly prepared. My stepkid had the borscht, a generous bowl that tasted amazing. Food was served with fresh sour cream and a delicious, spicy adjika(?) sauce. Black and green tea are also available. The decor was tasteful and cute, it also reminded me of cafes near Issyk-kul. Overall, this is an amazing restaurant that captures the spirit and flavor of Kyrgyz cuisine. If you are looking for a taste of that charming country's food, this is the place to go. You can also literally step off the San Carlos Caltrain station and walk there in less than a minute, so if you commute nearby, you should try it at least once! Plenty of free parking in the lot behind the restaurant, and close to 101. I can't wait to go back and try the lakhman!
Delicious food and great service! It’s a must place to come with your friends. They offer complimentary black/green tea ☕️ I would suggest getting their desserts as well.
