Tamari Authentic Georgian Cuisine

Next best thing to a trip to Georgia! But the service is quicker here than over there. I ordered one entree and one side dish, the web app said it would be ready by 7:33, 5 minutes after my order. I could not even get there that quickly, and it was ready when I got there. The only time I had better lamb stew was when it was slaughtered the same day as they did in Gori!.

My husband and I have ordered from tamari at least six times since they opened. Each time we have been amazed by the quality and consistency of their dishes. Additionally, some of them are plated so nicely — for example, the whole Branzino that we had Saturday night— could have been presented at a dine-in restaurant . Hopefully, in due time, patrons will be able to dine in at the restaurant.
We have introduced Tamari to friends, all of whom have been equally impressed with their choices.
We had not experienced Georgian cuisine prior to trying. Tamari. It has many unique flavors, but also borrows from Turkish and Greek cooking. We truly hope that this restaurant succeeds.It had the unfortunate timing of opening on the first day of the shelter in place order!
Other dishes that we have tried include the lamb shank (fall off the bone tender lamb!), both lamb stews, kabobs, Tolmas, dumplings, vegetarian stew, salads, eggplant rolled in walnut pesto, and their fabulous homemade breads. Everything has been delicious!
I would rate this 6-stars, were that an option!!

This restaurant has the best tolma I have ever tried! Khinkali and georgian wine are quite good as well. Also, for international women's day, women received a complimentary glass of champagne. We were served quick enough, however, there was only one waiter for the whole restaurant. In general, I liked the place and recommend it to everyone.

My friends and I were very impressed by Tamari's food (options, taste and presentation were all great), owner, decor, and ambiance. We liked everything we tried: the combo appetizer plate, bean clay pot, cheese bread, branzino, Georgian wine, and poached pear in wine sauce dessert. It would be nice to have 1 or 2 vegetarian entree options but otherwise this is a wonderful addition to the San Carlos food scene and we all agreed we would go back.
