Jack's Restaurant and Bar - San Mateo

Great food and great service! Came for the College Football National Championship and everyone that we met in Cali was awesome! Go Tigers!

Solid place for American fare. Always an interesting mix on Sunday morning of after-church families and people who were out Saturday night. Parking is tight when it's busy, and no breakfast burritos on weekends is a downer. Menu has plenty of other options, though, so it's not the end of the world.

Can't talk up the food here enough. Everything was exceptional! Service was great and everyone was very attentive/courteous. I must personally suggest the Chili Mac & Cheese- the perfect amount and absurdly delicious ???? See pictures below for proof! Worth a stop if you find yourself in the area!

It’s a easy location to grab a bite to eat an a good drink. But I haven’t had anything off the menu that’s made me want to eat there. I tend to only come here cause other people pick it. Every plate I have ordered has been basic. Nothing special. The Mac is gross... it’s so greasy. It’s always packed around dinner time. I don’t know why. It’s basic. They need an updated menu with new things an things that can compete with some of its surrounding restaurants.

My partner and I ordered two different kinds of Mac and Cheese and they were both delicious! The waitress was very friendly and sweet, often coming by to offer us bread and more water. The bathrooms were very clean and well maintained, and the space was open and warm. Seems like a great place to take your family out to eat! My only complaint would be the lack of vegetarian options (a veggie burger would be awesome!) But, it's worth noting that they have gluten free pasta for those who need it!
