Good food but the seats are super uncomfortable, I am pretty sure they do that on purpose tho so that people don't stay there for too long... pretty lame way to kick people out quickly
I've been going here for 15 years. The food is still good and everyone is nice. Yesterday, the food and dessert was kind of hard and dry. I'm sure it would be better next time.
Affordable and tasty Mexican food. It also seems to be historic restaurant. There is a constant inflow of customers but the service is very quick (I one day counted 10 workers on the other side of the desk.)
Since I hail from Colorado there is a specific type of Mexican food I like and Pancho Villa hits the spot. Friendly, fast, and caring is how the staff comes across. It's become the spot for my partner and I to get our fix.
Poncho Villa's is what it wants you to think it is - a straight forward Mexican food restaurant with minimal frills. You enter greeted by a 20 foot long (6 meter) counter overflowing weigh treats of taco and burrito fillings behind a glass sneeze guard. There's a team of eight or so people making trays of food. You typically order at the counter, but you might order at the registers. Be prepared to order as the line is usually long. Know what fillings you want in your dish, what kind of beans you want and if you're eating in or taking out. The tamales are huge, and rich, but the filling can be pretty dry. The tacos are huge and the tongue filling is wonderful. But overall, you're not here for high quality food. Your here for cheap, mountains of Mexican food. You get it here.
