(February 4, 2019, 8:29 pm)For many years when El Zocalo still had a restaurant on Mission Street in Bernal Heights it was our go to restaurant when we didn't feel like cooking. We pretty much always ordered the chicken soup and pupusas. Since the Mission Street restaurant closed and we have to go down to South San Francisco we don't eat there so much anymore. However when either my wife or I are sick and we need chicken soup it's worth the trip. Order over the phone for pickup service can be slow in person.

(February 2, 2019, 4:46 pm)Pupusas are good but when you order for pickup up they only let you order a max of 15 pupusas. My uncle is a regular. Also I think they should have a more efficient way to check out than the current set up.

(January 16, 2019, 1:36 pm)This place is excellent! Went on a recommendation and was impressed. Waitress was attentive and my food came out quickly. Put the Tex-Mex enchiladas and Salvadoran papusas on your bucket list. Deliciouso !!
