Dave's Dogs Grill

I decided to try the Chicago dog and to my surprise it was okay I had high expectations and the long line outside the door set the bar even higher. I've tried a real Chicago dog and I was hoping to have the same experience in Santa Barbara unfortunately it tasted nothing like a real deal. The problem was the bun it just was too thick and not the right type for this dog. My highlight was their chili cheese fries they were delicious and served enough for 2 people and that was surprising.

The staff is friendly and helpful. I ordered their special Animal Style dog (parody of In-N-Out) and fries. The bun was nice and soft, the ingredients tasted great, and the fries were good. Overall a great place for unique hot dogs.

One of my favorite go-to place to grab. The variety and price is unbeatable. I usually get the Pulled Pork Mac and cheese hot dog. The loaded fries is amazing as well. On a weekend night, the line might be a little longer.

If you like hot dogs, you will love this place. If you've ever thought "I should put this on a hot dog" they probably have and then they named it too. Spicy? Savory? Sweet? Salty? You can find it all in a hot dog here. Don't forget about the sides though. Tater tots, onion rings, cheese curds, and more are all really good. In case you hadn't picked up on it, this is not your go-to place for health food. But the food they do serve is quite delicious, and consistently so, with pretty friendly service.

Dave is always there greeting every customer with a smile and positive attitude. You can tell he is passionate about what he does and it shows in the hot dogs he has created. Always a pleasure coming here. Great food, friendly service and open late. Try the Mac and cheese with crushed hot Cheetos on top. I like to have a side of BBQ sauce with it. SB dog is always a good choice too. Yum!
