Very good lobster rolls, the add-ons can make it quite pricey. The rest of the food looks wonderful. Be prepared for the price point it runs high!
This restaurant is inside Shaker's Mill. We went late at night after a long drive due to nearby restaurants in the process of closing, so I'm not sure if that affected our experience. We got the fish and chips and a burger and fries. They were just okay, we didn't finish either meal. The fries were good. I was a little surprised about pricing. We accepted the high price on the menu, but when I ordered the burger (the only non-seafood option) I noticed the cashier rang up an extra $2 charge for a double (I didn't ask for this, it was the only option listed) and when she asked if I wanted bacon, I said yes and it rang up for $4. When we got our food, there were only two 3-4 inch slices. Again, it was all okay, but turned out to be an increasingly pricey, mediocre burger. We won't go back.
Absolutely love this place. I've been to the Malibu location as well as the Smorgasburg one. This place is consistently delicious at every location. My rating is based on the lobster roll only. More specifically the hot one with butter and it has been outstanding at every location.
Do yourself a favor and get the whole menu. To the people complaining about a $25 dollar lobster are the same ones purchasing a $10 bottle of coconut water. The food here is sublime. The team puts in a lot of amazing work. If I lived in Santa Barbara I’d be here every week!
A welcome addition to the trio of businesses here. The clam chowder is more clam-my and bacon-y than the usual cloyingly-creamy version at most restaurants; I really liked it. My wife thought the fish and chips were just okay (hence the 1 star off). You can take the food to eat at Modern Times, which has the most amazing beer selection this side of San Diego (where the other one is), especially if you want interesting stouts, sours, and all other manner of weird beers. I assume you can also eat it at Shaker Mill, the brewery in front, which has more standard options and a more energetic vibe.
