Having gone to college in the south, I was a little skeptical about this place, but it was great. Simple menu but everything done perfectly. Good coffee and drinks. Nice atmosphere. Quaint and cozy even. A little pricey but nothing out of the ordinary for the area.
Casual and comfortable, yet very polished ambiance. Awesome drinks. 5???? food that delights with each bite. The wait time for the food was unexpectedly long, but I'm happy to go back and wait again, if that's what it takes to get this yummy food.
Definitely, the best place to have your food! Love the wonderful atmosphere. Definitely worth the wait!
Wonderful hearty food. Great place to try out the diverse foods of the South. The fried oysters are the best I've had and the pulled pork to die for.
Although space is "well used" (tables pretty close together) it doesn't feel too crowded.
Lunch is a better time to drop by and go early for a chance to get table at night. This is a popular place!
This is for 2/1/19 for dinner in the outside patio
Food was great overall. We had the bywater burger, the shrimp and grits, and the bread pudding. What ticked it down was the amount of time between getting the appetizer and the main course. Our server didn't come to let us know that the order would take a little more time and we were just there waiting for our food. For reference, the table next to us ordered maybe five minutes before us and they ALL finished their food while we were still waiting to get our two orders.
Another thing was the shrimp and grits. While it was great in terms of flavor, the shrimp should have been peeled or the server should've let us know in advance that the shrimp wasn't peeled. It was a hassle and a mess to peel and eat. It was also definitely spicy which would have been nice to know in advance.
