My family has been coming here for years for good Sichuan food, and it has been quite consistent. It's a bit on the oily and salty side, but Sichuan food has to be as such to some extent. It's great! The food is sufficiently spicy, and the flavors are quite good. Some of my family' favorites:
- Spicy fried fish with chili peppers: ample amounts of fish, well fried, and good flavor. The chunks of fish are big and quite thick so that you're not just eating the fried flour on the outside for each piece.
- Water-boiled beef: the beef flavor is good, and there's a lot of vegetables as well.
- Beans: I don't know what the English name for these beans are, but if you ask for the traditional Sichuan beans, you'll get the right ones. The beans are fried I think, which makes them quite tender (but quite oily as well). They use some sort of vegetable I think to make the sauce, and I always take the leftover sauce to mix it with rice to eat.
- Beef flank: I'm not sure what the English name for this is either, but it's an appetizer with thin pieces of beef. The sauce is red (no surprise there), and it's a cold dish.
- Pepper pan fried beef: They use these somewhat sweet peppers to stir fry with beef, and the flavor's really good! Definitely eat the peppers (don't worry, they're not that spicy).
Definitely come try this restaurant if you want good Sichuan food. Remember to ask for less oil and salt though!
Amazingly delicious Sichuan food! Strong on the Sichuan peppercorn! Been here twice and will definitely come again. This past time the wontons in spicy oil and the Chongqing spicy fried chicken were the stars of the show.
Awesome Szechuan cuisine! Non-spicy dishes taste great too! Service is really nice. Not cheap but worth the money.
I got the boiling fish in fiery sauce and Chongqing fried chicken boneless . I have had these two dishes in other Szechuan places and I loved them. The boiling fish here had a different taste compared to the other Szechuan places, but still it was really good . The fried chicken was ok . It didn't taste like chicken as it was soft like a fish and it was very oily.
But I loved the boiled fish. 4 stars is just for the fish dish.
