Food tasted good, but seating was tight, no view and service was fair.

My customary order was Large Fried rice + chicken karaage. I dont think their ramen was over the top thou, just a slightly better than average. Services are very fast although there are normally only 2 servers

Good ramen at a decent price. I like this place because its hidden on Villa St. and the wait is never as long as a certain more popular ramen shop on Castro.

That said, there's no reason why Ryowa shouldn't be just as popular. Ryowa has tasty ramen with good selections and good side-dishes. The restaurant's interior is a little lackluster and the seating arrangements make it hard for large groups.

Ryowa is overall good - not fancy, but that's not what I'm looking for when I'm getting pho. It's a no-nonesense family run restaurant with a lot of options on the menu. Not very many vegetarian options, but that's understandable. The food was good, not great, but depends on what you like of course. The portions are large and the food came out very quickly after ordering.
