Vaso Azzurro

Friendliest Italian "family" restaurant with a great menu, location near parking structure on Castro and RR tracks. Fabulous dishes at reasonable prices and jazz live Fri & Sat. Truly enjoyable and tha apple strudal is excellent. Can't go wrong.

I planned a team dinner (~15 people) at Vaso Azzuro, and we were happy with the entire experience. The drinks and food all arrived correctly & at the right time (which can be tough when you have bunch of people running in and out and ordering different things!), our waiters were attentive, and the food tasted great. Oh, and the owner(?) of the restaurant sings as well! Something to keep in mind if you need to embarrass someone with a song for their next birthday. I would recommend this place for large groups and would come again.

Excellent food and service. We were able to order a dinner-only menu item for lunch. The owner entertained us with a couple of nicely sung songs and ended our lunch bringing a tiramisu on the house.

I love Vaso Azzurro! My first time going there I caked in advance because I have a lot of food allergies and needed more information about the menu. I have more "can't-eats" than "can-eats". Michael just said to send him my list of foods I can eat and he would fix me up something special and safe.

When I arrived he had not just 1, but TWO main courses and a desert ready for me. He and the chef both came over to watch me take the first bites. They even bright extra forks so they could taste it all too! ????

Each time I went Michael made sure to always fix me two main courses. He made me feel like acelebrity and said that I inspired him to think differently and change his menu. He was always so accommodating, so hospitable. He'll even sing to you too - beautiful tenor voice!

I moved away from the Mountain View area a few years ago and desparately miss Vaso Azzurro and the whole staff!

One of my favorite restaurants on Castro Street. The service and food are excellent. Listen carefully when your server tells you about their specials, they are always outstanding.
