I have eaten some Chinese foods in Singapore and some in Hsinchu Taiwan, this place is way better. You don't need to travel half way across the world to experience authentic Chinese food taste.

Don't let the front door fool you. Walk right in and have some amazing food. Seriously I almost didn't go in, but I'm so glad I did.

My personal favorite XLB ever (including experiences overseas and DTF) and definitely would be the best in the bay area. A great place for casual eating, exponentially enjoyable for the anime/manga fan cross foodie.

    Expanded review:

We have been to this place at least once a month for about 8 months now, and have seen the service quality grow and improve from when they were newly opened.

I have to say though, that the reason my husband and I keep coming back is that their for is excellent and the quality of that has not changed in the slightest— their food was and is just that good.

Read up on the owner on Yelp and find out he wants to make an awesome live action Dragonball movie.

Not surprisingly, our most favorite dish from here is their Dragonball dumplings. They are pan fried XLB enhanced with crispy bottoms which must be cooked with some aromatic onions in the oil.

We've thoroughly enjoyed round we've had here. Solid chow mein and delicious fried rice. We get the onion pancake every time. Always order the hand pulled noodles in the soups for the extra texture/chew, really hits home. At least once order the Godiva chocolate dumplings.

Their XLB are perfection. Most other foods are oily, so best to be in that mood, and heavy on the garlic, which is always a plus in my book. For people who like really spicy foods, all of this is easily manageable and will probably not phase you. I'm not at the daredevil-level of spice tolerance, but enjoy all of the spicy dishes; they look scarier and redder to me than they are actually spicy. For those with highly sensitive palates, navigate the foods carefully (soup noodles, cucumbers, and obvious items with chili oil in the description)

We see gradual upgrades to the dining experience, like the addition of sauces (vinegar, chili oil, soy sauce) at the table and updated cutlery/ware. The decor has a fun and eclectic mix of anime/manga-inspired pop art. There is almost always an anime (subbed!) being projected in the rear of the restaurant, one series typically being shown at a time—a forewarning for people with sound sensitivity, small children (due to some of the more mature nature of some shows), and people who want to avoid spoilers (oldies and new shows are shown).

I don't recommend large groups over 8, though we have had a group of 8 fit in the back of the store and I've seen other large parties fit with tables put together. It's not a terribly big place. I know there is a bathroom but I don't believe that it is publicly available (even to patrons).

Friendly and personable staff. We will continue to visit this place as long as our wallet and tummies allow; we hope that this inspires others to go there and support the owner's dream!!!

    Update 2/26/19

They updated their menu on 2/14, and have an improved drink and dessert list.

Wasn't sure what to expect from the outside decor but once you go in and taste the food you realize that it is legit Chinese food well made. The anime theme is a nice touch and keeps the kids entertained. They have really delicious pan fried soup dumplings here.
