Soooo authentic I loved it. I really felt like I was in an old Bavarian restaurant and it's totally hidden away you'd never stumble upon it. The noise level is a bit high as the restaurant acoustics aren't that good so tuck away behind a bar if you want to be able to hear. Good malt beer. I recommend at least one visit.
My new favorite German restaurant on the bay area.
Food is very tasty and service exceeded our expectations, they are very polite and helpful with our orders so we understand fully the menu. Beer was also very good! They serve your food in a reasonable timing, if you haven't been here is a "must try" !
Great food but be prepared for a wait. The lady serving the joint is great, and unchanged from 10 years ago when we started going there. The meat dishes were awesome, and the vegetarians in the group also found delicious options. I myself always get the schnitzel, and have never been disappointed.
a long while ago, i came there for lunch and dinner. it is traditional bavarian food. done very well. good beer. good waitstaff. just as a good bavarian restaurant should be. duck and smoked trout are his specialties. do not miss either. he imports spaten spring bock at the appropriate time, too. super.
I had dinner for two at Hardy's Bavaria and all in all had a pleasant experience. The food is very good, with good portions. A main course comes with bread and butter, a small side salad and a cup of soup - none of which is mentioned on the menu so it's a nice surprise although I almost ordered other items to make sure I had a balanced meal. The service was fairly slow but the place is run almost entirely by an elderly German couple with no additional waitstaff so just know you're not going to be in and out in under an hour. The traditional food is very good and worth a bit of a wait, especially since the bread etc will arrive faster. The restaurant is rather brightly lit and decorated with various German (and other?) knick-knacks. There is seating available on an outside patio but it was too cold to use during this visit.
