This is where the locals come. We enjoy getting their kebabs and picking up fresh baklavas from the market. The meat is cooked to perfection and it’s always delicious. Market has a variety of grains, cookies, dates, desserts, etc.
Back to 5 stars!!! Yayyyyy.
Update... Have been back multiple times, dropped from 5-3 stars. The last two times everything is way over cooked and burnt. Don't know why this is happening?
Lamb and beef kabab, veggie kabab, always charcoal cooked, never propane. Smells like heaven here, nice man, delicious kababs! You can order ahead, he cooks everything to order. We didn't call and only waited 5-10 minutes.
Very authentic place.
A very unpretentious and utilitarian market churning out delicious and very reasonably priced grilled halal BBQ kabobs! Service was friendly. Contactless payment available. Doesn't appear to have any online ordering but a call ahead should suffice. Allow 15-30 min depending on time of day.
Who knew there would be delicious kabobs here?! You wouldn't know it at first glance because the place looks like an unassuming store selling all sorts of goods, but the secret is in the kabobs!
Perfectly seasoned chicken skewers and ground lamb and beef kabobs, plus specialty cuts like lamb liver simply seasoned with salt can be found here. Even the mixed veggie kabobs with peppers, onions and tomatoes are great; the grilled tomatoes are cooked to perfection all the way through, tender yet still with a bite. Wrapping bites of meat and veggies with the included lavash is a simple yet delicious meal that will leave you wanting more. In fact, we went back three days in an row trying out the different kabobs!
The owner is nice and friendly and takes care to cook everything well; it took about 15 minutes for an order of 3-4 kabobs. Parking is just a few spots in the front, but seems to be pretty open during lunchtime at least. For anyone who loves kabobs, you gotta come here!
Came in first time. Ordered Kabob Koobedah, Chicken thigh Kabob, and a skewer of mixed vegetables. The food was just OK. Both chicken and beef were dry and not juicy, with chicken being slightly burned. The kabobs in Rose Market, Mountain View were fresher (skewering right in front of you), more tender and full of saffron flavors. Also Kabobs here were pre-seasoned with Sumac during barbequing, it added flavors to the meats but might have overpowered the saffron. The whole point of Kabobs, IMO, lies in the aroma of saffron. With that said and after opinion-gathering among family, we all agreed that sumac is at its best when sprinkled over Kabob right before eating 'cause the lemon-zest-like astringency can be brought out to the max. Anyway, for our order, it comes with a small pack of mixed greens and some Lavash breads.
Store was small, but appeared to be clean and organized. I was intrigued to find some unique Middle Eastern products such as green tea w/earl grey, grape molasses, date molasses, orange blossom water and dried Chamomile flower tea, etc. Owner was friendly. What an adventure to step into an oasis of erotic goods.
