Britannia Arms Of Capitola

Wow! We happened upon as close to possible traditional British pub next to the beach in Capitola. Fantastic menu, great to have a Strongbow on tap! Our server was super fun and made our special day together even more fun!

I cannot express enough how much I enjoy coming to Capitola and to the Britannia Arms every time 😊 Being Scottish and always living away from home, it’s nice to find places that make you feel so welcome and connected to your homeland. Big shout out to Irene as well for being the nicest Irish lady I’ve met outside of Ireland. Your hugs are awesome ❤️

Pub grub with a bit of California Beach style. My veggie burgers are always tasty, the chips are thick cut, and the mushy peas are happy reminders of travels to visit family and friends in the UK. Try a snakebite or a glass of California wine, too, and enjoy the patio and views to the sea. Later in the evening, have a cocktail on the patio and enjoy the cool ocean breezes beneath the stars or in the fog.

The staff were friendly, kind and welcoming, even though they were very busy on a Saturday evening. I had the crab cakes salad. The crab cakes were very good. The salad was incredibly fresh with a nice dressing. It was a pleasure to eat wholesome food in a touristy area.

If you're looking for great comfort food this is the place! My husband had the bangers and mash and I had the Irish stew. Both were so good! Brought us right back to England. 🥰 Paired with a perfectly poured Guinness and attentive wait staff, it's a perfect place to hit up for hearty winter meals when the summer crowds have subsided.
