Delicious Ramen! They have a great selection of broths meats and toppings. They were out of boba though and that made us sad, but not sad enough to not enjoy the ramen! My niece got the spicy beef (2) and it was very spicy, but still a 10/10. We also ordered number 5 (pictured) and 1. All 10/10, filling and warmed the soul.
Delicious Garlic Tonkotsu. I have had fancier and more expensive Ramen, but this bowl hits a great spot. The other broths have so far been less impressive, but perhaps we caught them on an off day.
Loved the Tantanmen Ramen - beautiful flavors! (I added extra pork to make it more hearty.) Ikageso Karaage (fried octopus) and Orange Ramune soda were pretty good too.
The restaurant itself is nice and clean. A regular ramen is around $16 and the portions are on the smaller side. When I'm comparing the price to quantity ratio it's not great. The quality and taste is good for Santa Cruz but if this restaurant were in San Jose it would not be able to compete. It's classic ramen that I expect in every way and I appreciate the addition of more Asian food in Santa Cruz.
We came in for lunch today after learning that a new ramen spot opened on the West side of SC and we had a great experience. We ordered the chicken ramen and a side of the chicken karaage. The ramen was delicious - great broth, noodles, jammy eggs and toppings. The Karaage is also very good - fresh chicken pieces, well breaded, not over-cooked. 5 starts for exceeding expectations; good food, very friendly/attentive staff, and a nice casual atmosphere. Also, they carry Japanese Ramune soda (try one if you’ve never had it before!). My only constructive criticism is that the broth could have been a little bit warmer. Overall, I can’t wait to go back and try more of their dishes. Welcome to the neighborhood!
