We live here in Mt Shasta, so we were really happy to have new option for Mexican food. Here are the pros & cons based on 3 visits so far. Pros: I like that you can just walk in and fill your basket with fresh, warm tortilla chips and grab some salsa. At most places, I never get enough and have to wait on refills in a tiny salsa bowl. Same with the re-fillable fountain drinks, another plus here. The carne asada tacos were really good, and I search from Mexico to Oregon. Not quite up there with Zaguan's wood-fired tacos, but those are a rare exception. The corn tortillas were super fresh, soft and pliable, but only on the first two meals. I have also tried two of the shrimp dishes, and both were delicious. The staff has been very kind and helpful each time. Cons: The decor is mid-century dive bar. Black on black, and no windows. I wanted to knock out a wall when I was in there. There are no refried beans, which I would love to scoop up with all those great tortilla chips, mixed with salsa. Not a deal killer, but hey, it would be nice. On the third visit, both of us noticed the tortillas were not the same. They were oily and tough, so we couldn't eat the tacos without everything squeezing out. Day-old tortillas are just not acceptable. It's a key part of the meal. Maybe it's because it is still a brand-new restaurant.

So overall, the pros outweigh the cons, and we will keep coming for sure! Especially now that they are open for Mexican breakfast. Oh, yeah! We don't have to wait until 11 anymore.

Went here for the first time with a group of 14 people. I asked the waitress what was popular, ordered one of those items, it came in a sizzling axtec bowl. OMG! t was so so so good, flavorful. It had steak, chicken, and some veggies in the most wonderful sauce. The menu said spicy but it didn't taste too spicy. Everyone loved their food, the service from one waitress was outstanding.

Hands down the best Mexican food in the county. The shrimp burrito is delicious.
