This place was not what I expected, and I am so happy we stopped in.
We were looking for a place for breakfast and stumbled upon this treasure. The food was SUPERIOR! The gentleman working there was extremely gracious and informative.
The idea of "pay what your feel is adequate" is a great idea!! Hope that everyone who stops here appreciates that open idea and pays accordingly because it it worth it!! Not just the food, but the hospitality and the views as well!!
My husband even said that he will drive four hours from our home to go there again. :)
I you like places that are a little different this is going to be for you. The Russian owner prepares a meal and it is kept hot on a small serving line. You help yourself. When you are done you pay what you think the meal was worth. Yes, that is correct there is no set price for a meal!
I have eaten here twice now and found the food to be very good. The place is clean and a bit eclectic. The views are wonderful and on a warm day the outside seating is the best. They will usually have a couple of dishes that are vegetarian too.
A lovely setting. Strange set-up. It is all self serve and you pay as you see fit by putting the money in a locked bird house by the door. A very nice gentleman helped us, but it was not his job to do so. Interesting philosophy of the why and how of the place at each table. I enjoyed the food, my husband did not.
Unique place a blend of traditional Russian style and culture with hippie vibe. There is no menu but rather a small buffet style meal that has no pricing so anyone can pay what they can afford. Delicious food and staff are all volunteers
It's a little different.. there is no visible staff, so at first glance when you walk in you're not sure what to do. Someone else there let us know that you serve yourself, eat and pay (credit card machine by the door or pay cash), you pay whatever you feel the meal was worth. The food was great, the views are spectacular and they have lots of stuff for kids and adults (toys, piano...I think there was even a harp there). Great food, no service, but none needed and you cant beat the price!
