You can't get much better than the decadent mushroom soup and a perfectly made martini overlooking the majestic Sonoma coast. This doesn't feel like a tourist spot, despite it's regal location. All the dishes we tried are well done, locally sourced and innovative. Romantic & relaxed, with charming service.
A well known restaurant because of its fantastic location, yes, where the River meets the ocean. Not a large restaurant, but many with great views, particularly of sunset (heard so). Passed by and decided to have lunch. Sat in the sunroom which had nice views, but there was another party of 4 there and they were talking really loud the whole time (ruined the views) that we had to cut our lunch short. The beet salad was pretty good, but the wild mushroom pasta had an old oil flavor that didn't taste right. Additionally, the pasta was over $30 which was way over priced for the serving size.
We stayed in room 3, which was quite "cozy" and basic, but when we stepped on the porch our mouths dropped. The view is BREATHTAKING! Pretty rare to be able to see BOTH river and ocean at the same time! GREAT place to have your morning coffee or evening glass of wine.
We brought our double kayak and launched it below the resort. I can't count how many seals we saw on our trip. They were adorable. We went for our anniversary, and we'd definitely go again.
River’s End in Jenner is an awesome little restaurant with a ton of history, nice staff, great food, and an absolutely amazing sunset view!!
We make it a point to eat here every time we’re in the area. If you have the chance to see the sunset from here you won’t forget it.
It’s a bit on the pricier side but we always leave satisfied with the overall experience. Will certainly be back!!
Knowing the historic traits of this restaurant has helped me appreciate it more and more. The staff here are similar to a small family, and want to take care of their customers in a similar manner. Always willing to answer questions on a menu that changes year round, and do the most they can to help you enjoy your time there. In my opinion, this is the place for a dinner with a view any time of the year. No matter what the weather there will be a stunning view, and there will be a comforting feeling. The food and drinks can only compliment that. Delicious and fresh is how I could describe almost everything. I would describe a dish but it may not be there when you visit. So do yourself a favor...treat yourself, or you and your significant other. Take a trip and when you get there; turn the phone off, take a deep breath of fresh air on the deck, relax for a second, and savor every bite.
