Absolutely fantastic. I still dream of the BBQ shrimp and grits.
******EDIT*******
I have been here once. Each time after, this place has been closed EVERY SINGLE time I have tried to come again. Out of the four times I have attempted to go here, only once has it been open. It is beyond frustrating as a customer to go somewhere and it constantly be closed when Google and Yelp say it is open. Though the food is good, I am tired of being disappointed with it being closed on a consistent basis; because of this repeated problem, I will not be coming back until the hours are consistent.
Very happy I took the time to visit Chef Gator! Jambalaya was very good and the catfish was crispy and very light. Staff was very friendly, the owner took time to visit tables and ask about the food. The only reason not for 5 stars is that it was a bit confusing when walking in. You must order before you sit down. It is not full service restaurant but well worth the trip.
Great tasting food, friendly staff, great vibe, highly recommend. Chef Gator is very creative which is not surprising he won on Guy's Grocery Games! A friend ordered the chicken and waffles. They looked so good I had to go back taste them for myself. They did not disappoint. I also love the Shrimp and Grits. They used fresh ingredients you can tell by the shrimp - very fresh.
Great space and vibe, the food is all house made and it shows. Often there is a list of 86'd items... but if you are there on The weekends they usually are in business on most everything.
The fried chicken is off the hook good!
Burger is good, slightly different from west coast burgers but really tasty. And despite bagged/frozen fries...they are delish...sprinkled with cajun spices.
This is a great regional spot right here in our backyard.
Chef Gator is not only a really nice guy, but his food is amazing.
I've only had time to get take out, but they've both been really good meals.
The place is clean and organized.
Friendly staff and good music playing.
If your lucky to be there when chef gator is, you might even hear him sing along with some of the blues.
You can tell he really loves what he does and is good at it.
