El Coqui

We met a friend for lunch at El Coqui. She was an hour late, so my party of 4 occupied a table sipping on drinks and eating chips for a long time, testing the good nature of our server Miriam, who never wavered in her attentiveness or positivity. When she finally arrived and we were assembled, we ordered a variety of dishes from the expansive menu which included several gluten free options. The food was good, moderately priced and the atmosphere of El Coqui is decidedly upbeat and fun. We enjoyed our meal very much.

I really liked the chill atmosphere and that they allow dogs!! Both inside and on the outdoor patio. The food was tasty though on the pricier side. I got the carnitas taco with some appetizers which were all great!

I had the chicken, black beans and plantain. It was okay, a bit bland, but cooked well. I highly recommend the flavored sodas, something for everyone.

This place is great. The food here was very good. I had the picadillo and it was very tasty, very hot. It really did the trick on a cool, rainy, dreary weekend afternoon. Staff is very nice and pleasant, portions good and prices very fair. Definitely recommend.
