Food was excellent. Service was iffy. I'd likely go back.

First, I’m slightly biased. I love the entire Beto’s group of restaurants in Simi Valley. The group does a great job at feeding me excellent food at a reasonable price. That bias taken into account, I took my wife to the recently opened M&B Steak and Seafood on our 38th anniversary. We were not disappointed. She had the Pork Chop with mushroom sauce. I ordered a Ribeye done medium rare. Generally, I’m easy to deal with in restaurants EXCEPT for the temperature of the food, especially steak. I will send a steak back in a heartbeat if it’s not right. My ribeye was perfect. One of the most well prepared steaks I have had recently. It was seasoned deliciously by the chef, again perfect to my taste. The waiter offered various sauces. I usually don’t put sauce on steak, and this one was so tasty that I refused. The waiter slightly annoyingly insisted that I try the Béarnaise sauce or the Pepper Corn. I caved and ordered the Béarnaise mostly to get him to go away and let me eat this delectable steak. He came back with both. Lucky me! They were both very tasty and both different than anything I had tasted previously. I finished my steak in small bites – 1 naked, 2 Béarnaise, 3 Pepper Corn, and then repeat. It was so good I almost ordered another steak, and I COMPLETELY forgave the waiter for pushing the sauce. My wife loved her Pork Chop as much as I loved my steak. She made me barter for a taste. You’d think she’d be more giving on our anniversary, but she didn’t want to sacrifice a man sized bite of what she was obviously enjoying as much as I was enjoying my steak. Her Pork Chop was absolutely as good as my Ribeye. We finished with an Apple Tart a la Mode – delizioso.

This place is not very big. We got there early, 5:45, on a Thursday, so no big deal; but it might get full early on a Friday and Saturday. Best get reservations.
