It’s nice to have a new dining option in Davis, especially after some of our favorite places closed. The menu at Burma Eat has a lot of salad and vegetable options and the veg dishes are vegan. We’ve been there twice so far. Our favorite dish is the tea leaf salad, and we also enjoyed the chicken noodle soup (which was substantial—like a curry w noodles), stir-fry cabbage, spicy eggplant and veg curry as well. For us, the amount of heat in the dishes was perfect.

We ate at the outdoor tables, and our server Deonna was very friendly and attentive. This place is definitely going into our regular restaurant rotation!

Wonderful Burmese food! I am so grateful there is a place to get tea-leaf salad whenever I crave it because I would have to end up either ordering from my friends in the Bay Area or having to get it directly from Burma. Growing up Burmese, I ate a lot of traditional foods, so my standards were especially high for this restaurant, and I was pleasantly surprised. The food is very fresh and clean from what I can taste, and I will certainly come back again. The price is well worth it for the quality I got. I am looking forward to coming again and trying out the rest of the menu!

Everything was really tasty. Vegetable curry dip is decent. Pumpkin veg curry was a little more watery than we were expecting, but I'm no expert on Burmese food and it tasted good. The potato chicken curry was really great. As others have mentioned rice is not included nor presumed so don't forget. Portions were solid.

Burmese food finally in Davis, I'm amazed! If you've never had Burmese food before I would describe it as similar to Thai food but with more elements of Indian, Chinese, and Vietnamese cooking scattered in certain dishes. This spot is located in the plaza where Mikuni was before they moved.

Tried a few dishes so far and the flavors are unique and quite bold.

    Fried Chicken: A+
Super crispy, lots of meat on the bone. The spicy lemon fish sauce they serve with this is a flavor bomb! This is a must get appetizer!!

    Burmese Mixed Vegetable Curry: B+
Pretty good flavor for the curry and I like the variety of vegetables you get. I like the use of okra, carrot, and cabbage that gives it the whole spectrum of textures. Definitely would be better if I had ordered rice with this.

    Burmese Style Pad Thai: B-
This is a solid Pad Thai but I definitely preferred the other dishes I ordered. I thought it was more on the sweet side than sour. I like that they split the cabbage and peanuts in the takeout container. Also the texture of the noodles and tofu are firm so they hold up well.

Overall, the flavors are on point and I'd highly recommend Burma Eat to experience some different flavor combinations you may not have had before. Service was super fast, ordering online was convenient, and there is lots of parking. Only downside I'd say is it's on the pricier side for small to average portions. Definitely will be back to try some other dishes like the tea leaf salad and pumpkin curry!
