Apple Barrel Restaurant

4/2/22-Our first impression today of this place was trying to find a clean table. Even though they were not busy it looked like the tables had not been wiped down since their last use. When I was growing up I remember making special trips out to this place just for their salad bar which is now gone. It's still on the menu, but says where offered. I ordered a salad which was good and large for the price. My mom ordered their current special which was a spaghetti sandwich. An interesting idea, but the sauce was too runny which made the whole thing fall apart. The best part of the meal was the corn nuggets. The one good thing though is that this is the only restroom in the truck stop that is somewhat ADA friendly. The toilets have tons of buttons but are really low to the ground.

Food was absolutely fantastic, service was as well, and the chef came out to double check and make sure everything was good, and if she's the one that made my steak she's damn talented. Great experience!

I get it,people are concerned about covid,some anyway.quit using covid for an excuse to provide subpar or non existent service and selection of food.place used to be awesome,now its just a bunch of excuses and I'm about done with it.
