What a great place to visit for travel & shopping for the family! The staff & the service they provided was absolutely phenomenal! If you're looking for a little more shopping before the trip home & want great service, I absolutely recommend you stop here!
A slice of the way things used to be. Nice lunch counter.... awesome views. Pictures of the past on the walls and a curio for everyone...worth the trip
The third star is for the kind and friendly service. The pies are homemade, served warm (nice touch) but are not gourmet. The avocado toast had way too much garlic and salt in it. The gluten-free bread was good. I peaked at some of the other diners plates and they didn't look outstanding. The lodge is charming with it's rustic woodwork. Large parties would have no problem spreading out in the ample dining room. The staff needs to be more cognizant of spills on the floor not only near the beverage/coffee area but as they carry items to tables as well. There is a small bar between the gift shop and dining room. The restrooms were clean. There is parking in front as well as the side of lodge. The lodged is closed around October 15th because of the weather.
The baked goods are AMAZING and they hit the spot like you’ve never had a spot hit before. I had the chocolate chip cookie and it was gooey, buttery, and everything I needed as I braved the chill that Mt Evans brings once you hit the lodge’s altitude. ???? gift shop offers some unique and charming gifts as well. Fun to look around and take in.
After a sunrise drive to Mount Evans we were starving and came a crossed this restaurant on the way down. It was awesome! We had pancakes, cinnamon roll and breakfast potatoes. It was all great- except for the potatoes-skip those but the rest was great! We had coffee mixed with hot chocolate (at the recommendation of the staff) - yum! Definitely try that. They have a gift shop attached and restroom facilities. There was plenty of parking as well. Make this a stop on your adventure!
