Real good food. Has that old style feel. Definitely try this place.
I had a pulled pork sandwich meal with a side of mac-n-cheese and it was all super delicious. Better than Bird Dog BBQ and Dickey's in my opinion. The Mac and Cheese tastes homemade with a light addition of seasonings, and the pulled pork is perfectly tender with a savory BBQ sauce that's seriously goes well together. The prices are not too high either. I highly recommend visiting this Castle Rock BBQ spot.
Old West is ok, nothing spectacular. When I first moved to Castle Rock I was excited to try old West and wasn't very impressed with the meal. The place also feels a bit run down and not well taken care of. I recently was told that they have really good breakfast burritos and stopped by to try them. I got the pork and green chili as well as a chorizo. The pork one was very spicy and had decent flavor, but very little pork. The chorizo was ok, not as spicy, but very salty. Both burritos relief heavily on potato cubes for filler. It's also mid January and there is still a sign on the counter advertising Thanksgiving meal specials and the window is advertising for the fair that ended in August. The place could definitely use a little more attention to detail, as it makes me concerned about what else is getting missed.
Fantastic portions, incredible service, you feel like you at home and very clean. Very good sized menu and a place that would handle its own in Texas! Decor is awesome. Vents & ceiling might need some attention. Other than that, place is awesome.
