Stopped here based on a recommendation from our AirBnB host. Very charming restaurant with patio seating. The croissants and breakfast rolls were amazing!

Absolutely the BEST breakfast my husband and I have had in this area. The Smothered Breakfast Burrito was absolutely delicious and their pastries are to die for! We will be talking about this place for years. The atmosphere is quiet and quaint, perfect for a relaxed breakfast or brunch. Our server was very attentive and kind. We can’t say enough good things about this place!

Quaint place to grab a solo or accompanied bite to eat. Loved that they tried to make me a.savory crepe. It was just right for me.
Their hot chocolate was sinfully sweet.
My server was lovely, courteous and efficient.
    Bathroom was clean but chilly.
Will come.back when I am in town again.
Edit: please think about savory crepes on your menu🙏

Great lunch place in Carbondale. They make the most amazing grilled cheese sandwich I have ever had.

My experience in France is that you go to the simplest of cafes, roadside stands, even gas stations, and get amazingly good tasting simple fare. This is that type of cafe experience. Cute, cozy atmosphere, not a lot of seating, but outstanding simple French-inspired creations.

This is our number one choice when in Basalt for lunch

I’m partial to the Turkey sandwich on a baguette. Served with potato salad. Simple but delicious!

Update 2020: A couple, Anabel and Alejandro bought and have been running Cafe Bernard for a couple of years now. The food was good before, it’s even better now! Alejandro is an amazing chef! Still our favorite in Basalt (and the whole mid-valley).

They kept the menu pretty much intact but have added their own twists. Great food before......even better now! Still with a French-inspired influence. My favorites are the eggs Benedict, the salad Nicois and whatever special Alejandro has created for the day.

    You won’t be disappointed!
