I lived in Germany and Austria for over 10 years and love this place for the authenticity of food and their decoration. However when I had their pork Schnitzel a few days ago I was really disappointed. It is a processed piece of patty and so off from what a real Schnitzel is supposed o be. They were kind enough to replace the dish but it was another processed piece of meat. That was really disappointing.
Great atmosphere. My wife and I stopped in for a drink after work. Great staff, adorable decor. We will go again!
The food was good, but I have to say I was a little disappointed for several other valid reasons. The wait staff was not very engaging. They did not communicate very well on several occasions. Our direct waitress wasn’t rude or anything, she just could have explained situations or what was going to happen a little better. I’ll give you an example; she gave us our check without explaining that she would still be bring our dessert that we ordered 10 minutes prior to receiving the check (sort of left us hanging) so we were not for sure if she was coming back or not with it and we couldn’t find her to ask for another 5 minutes. We did tip her well though I felt it wasn’t fully deserved.
We also had a table next to us bring in a 45-50lb puppy/dog that would bark occasionally that was not a service dog. The last time I checked that is not allowed in any restaurant. IF I HAD KNOW THE FEDERAL HEALTH CODES HAD CHANGED I could have brought in one of my five dogs in to distract me during those periods of confusion when I did not know what was happening with my meal because of the wait staff. I live in Vail and Cherry Hills Village Colorado and I hate it when people think the rules don't apply to them and the restaurants allowing there chosen patrons to ignore the rules but they make everyone else follow them. This type of behavior is what gives Vail a bad name.
Ate lunch today at almresi. Staff is very efficient and welcoming. Ordered charcuterie platter which was excellent. Had our daughter from Portland Oregon with us visiting. We all enjoyed the platter. Went on to the pea soup stew which was very tasty and warming. Too full for dessert even though we have ad eyed the kuchen. Would certainly recommend the restaurant to others.
I'm a photographer (Emily LC Photography) and had the pleasure of photographing a elopement this past summer which ended with cocktail hour and a very intimate dinner at Almresi. The staff were so attentive, organized and friendly. The tables were set beautifully, not to mention the food and drinks which were all amazing. As a vendor, such attention to detail and thoughtfulness is appreciated! Great job to the staff there, I would highly recommend if you are visiting Vail and will be returning myself soon!
