Mountain Pizza & Taproom

We make the trip to a local RV park near South Fork every summer. For the past three years, we've made the 10 hour drive from Texas, set up the camper, then make the short trip into town to eat at Mountain Pizza & Taproom. Their pizzas are made fresh in a brick pizza oven when you order, they have at least 16 beer choices on tap to try out, and a nice outdoor seating area with heaters to enjoy the CO evenings. Friendly staff and good food keep us coming back.

My wife and I eat here on 5/2/22. No one in front of us. Ordered a pizza and was told 20 minutes. Okay with that. 10 minutes later name was called, picked up my pizza. Noticed crust was burned, not badly but noticeable. When I served a slice to my wife, it was not hot. It was warm, WARM. We were traveling and hungry so we eat the pie. Not the best I have had but we wanted to be on our way. Leaving, I told the young lady that was up front what we had and our disappointment. She told us she was sorry. I am sorry I spoke to the young lady and not to management. I think I was given a pie that someone didn’t show up for and it had cooled down. I have NEVER gotten one that was warm. I have picked them up and taken them home and eat them hotter than the one I got here!
We will be in the area for a couple of months. We won’t be eating here again.
UPDATE: I was contacted within 10 minutes of posting this review by the operations manager. She wanted to make this right and offered a gift card for another chance to get it right. I was impressed with how quickly she responded. Apparently she watches for problems and jumps on them right away. We went back 5/17. Friendly staff. A trainee was on the register taking orders, needed a little guidance. A young lady was standing by and helped get everything worked out. Pie was hot, drinks were cold and we enjoyed our dinner. Thank you Angela and staff.

The food is absolutely amazing. Quality is extremely good. The calzone is delicious but the pizza takes the spotlight. The garlic knots are also excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This place doesn't sacrifice the quality of food even though they are low staffed. Definitely made the right choice to stop here!

First time in half a century that I ordered from the "children's menu", however that was the only option for me to order a portion of pizza suitable for a light "lunch for one".

I am glad that the friendly woman behind the counter suggested it. Nice crust, plenty of cheese. The tomato sauce was adequate. It might be improved by addition of a bit more seasoning and diced tomatoes.

I would not hesitate to stop by for lunch again.
