It was crowded on a Thursday night, with a vibe that was a bit different than other places in Westport (in a good way). The food and drinks were both excellent. “We experienced Mexicue for the first time at their new Westport location! The fusion of Mexican and BBQ is super unique and something that I think works really well together. We absolutely loved the nachos we had for an appetizer - plenty of toppings spread throughout, and the burnt ends added on was a game changer. The guac was tasty too, and I really liked the bacon. We enjoyed our tacos, but I was a little disappointed in the lack of ground beef filling on the El Americano (folded taco in the pictures, I probably should've taken a pic of it opened), especially considering the taco goes for over $7. The birria platter was a great size, and we liked the pulled pork tacos. However, we did find the consome broth to be a bit too salty, and I would've been happier with less pickled red onions on the rice and beans. Loved the street corn ribs though, it made it very easy to eat! Overall, I was impressed with the service and how quickly the food came out for such a newly opened restaurant, they were definitely on the ball. We had a nice date night here, and I think we'll both be thinking about those nachos for a while!”

Reservations at this point in time are all done over the phone and the last time I was there (about a week ago or two from this review post date) they do not accept reservations between the 6:30-7:30 time frame but accept all walk-ins during this time frame. My go-to dish is their Hamachi Crispy Rice and Hungarian Stuffed Cabbage.”

“Absolutely delicious Mexican food. We ordered a taco bowl with Mexican rice, fajitas, the Baja Chicken, Queso, fresh diced red onion, Salsa Fresca, and this delicious Chipotle Aioli. The bowl comes with chips and salsa which were delicious! We also tried the queso bowl which was amazing! 3 scoops of queso, ground beef, guacamole, jalapeños, and chips! We ordered drinks and tried and the sweet tea organic tractor beverage, very tasty! The restaurant interior is beautiful and the staff was super nice! Will be back for sure!”

“This place is amazing! We have had them two days in a row for lunch! Not sure why anyone would make the drive to other organic spots with limited parking when this place is situated perfectly, has outdoor seating, offers online ordering with seamless pick up and friendly employees that say hello when you walk in! And the food is wow: fresh, meat falls apart, braised pork is some of the best I’ve and that sauce! My new go to lunch spot. 😋”

We had about 5 different servers come to the table for various things and it was very disorganized. Clearly the entire wait staff had never been profession waiters before. “I love this place. I love the food, i love the vibe, i love the staff - i love everything! I had an amazing private dinner party at Bistro Du Soleil for my birthday, and from the moment i reached out to the restaurant to inquire about doing an event to the moment i paid the check i was so happy. Maria, the owner, really went out of her way to make everything absolutely perfect. She and her parents run the restaurant AND cook the food, AND her father even built the tables and bar by hand. As soon as I met them, i felt like they were family. They worked with me to plan a special menu and there was SO MUCH DELICIOUS FOOD! We did an hour of appetizers set up on the bar, and then a full 5 course sit-down dinner. It was the perfect evening. This is exactly the kind of place Westport needs - delicious, friendly and cool. It is not at all pretentious because it doesn't have to be. The food speaks for itself. I can't wait to go back!”

“compliments on your excellent sea scallops. Most places including restaurants sell "counterfeit" sea scallops which are generally Mako shark, (almost no fiberosity, very soft, and much worse taste) but Superior Seafood sells the real thing, and they are excellent. Fresh, perfect level of fiberosity, excellent taste. A++. The ones I bought the other day were really outstanding. I cooked them in coconut oil from Stop & Shop which worked out very well, better than butter - nice taste, less greasy, resists burning - excellent. Add salt and a dusting of onion powder, let them brown but don't scorch them - and you will have a seafood dish worthy of the best restaurant in the world. And they are very pleasant there as well. thanks !”
