J's Crab Shack

Can't say enough about how fresh and amazing the food was, the fantail shrimp were OUTSTANDING. The prices were really, really good for the quality of fresh seafood that was served. The crab cakes were three whole dollars. The service was right on time. We watched our game at the bar while we ate, the atmosphere was nice in the 21 and up side of the restaurant. They also have a fresh seafood market on premise. GO EAT THERE!

We happen to catch them on a day when they were serving ribs and we loved them! My friend is not a big seafood person so he was happy to discover this and since we are from Texas and picky about our barbecue, we give this place two thumbs up. There is space to dine in but we ordered to go. They gave us a lot of food for our money. I had the three way combo with fish, shrimp and scallops.

Some of the best seafood I've ever had in CT or RI or anywhere. Everything was cooked to perfection and came out VERY fast. We had calamari (amazing), lobster bisque (good), haddock (excellent), shrimp (WOW), king crab legs (perfect). Side note. Tarter sauce, cocktail sauce, fries, and slaw were all way better than most. This was our 1st time but not the last. Keep up the good work!

I was in Hartford in business and wanted seafood and chose J's Crab Shack. I was impressed with the food I had the ubiquitous Lobster Roll and it was delicious it is as large and the lobster was well cooked, it came with fries and coleslaw. The fries were hot and seasoned. I also had the 'small' shrimp and potato chowder. The soup was amazing and I'd go back just for that. In all honesty the only issue I had was the soup was so hot I had to eat it after my roll, but in all honesty if that is the only issue I can deal.

It was awesome and the people were nice. Definitely go if you want good seafood.
