The Corner Pug

Love this place! We try to get something different every time we go, & I haven't had a bad meal yet. Their burgers are FANTASTIC! Dominique keeps the beer full, too. 😉 Highly recommend.

I’ve been dropping in at this establishment for years, often for lunch, but have done some dinners here, as well. One of my favorites on the menu, was the BBQ Pulled Pork Press. Sadly, and rather disappointingly, as I noticed on my most recent visit, this has been replaced on the menu with a completely different version of bbq pulled pork sandwich. The original pulled pork press, had cheese and was served on a grilled baguette. The new one comes without cheese, and is served on a rather soft burger bun. It was not nearly as enjoyable, as the version that was on their old menu. The BBQ sauce also had a strange aftertaste, which I never experienced with the pulled pork press, that used to be on their menu. The best part of my most recent meal there, was the fries, which were delicious, and had perfect color and texture. One of the main reasons I’ve always liked the Corner Pug, is the inviting pub atmosphere. The dark woodwork and pub decor, along with the old paintings, upholstered booths, etc., very much remind me of many old pubs I’ve visited across Europe. The waitstaff has always been pleasant and accommodating. I understand that restaurants like to “shake things up” so-to-speak, on their menus from time to time; and generally I’m fine with that, as long as the item replacing the old item is as good, or better than what it is replacing. In my opinion, this menu change as it relates to the pulled pork sandwich, was a giant step backwards, and I won’t be ordering it again. It is unfortunate, because I always looked forward to it.

Good draft beer selection and ample parking in the back. Waffle fries were great

Always enjoy stopping in here - beers served in proper (16oz) pints and good food. Meatloaf is very good as are the burgers.

Excellent lunch! Great food, great service! Will definitely go back when in the area again.
