Just okay for a quick stop. Clam strips were fine. Fried shrimp was not
Very good food ! Good prices! Friendly service and Best milkshake ????
Great hot dogs and hamburgers. Love to sit outside also. Not many places left in CT like this.
Johnny Ad's is a summer tradition for many. I do not recommend a stop there in the "off" season. I had a Scallop platter on Saturday April 6. The scallops were old and rubbery. The fries had a funky, greasy taste like the oil needed changing. The Cole slaw was brown and rancid. Looked like it was made last week. For the $21.00 they charge for the meal, I expected much better! Should have gone to subway.
I always want to like this place more than i end up after eating there. Fish is fresh and fried fish is done perfectly, but it's too pricey for what you get. Every thing seems to cost extra. One thing that bugs me a ton is that they charge for 2 burgers when you get a double patty. There should be an upcharge but charging double is a bit stingy. Relishes are great, lobster roll...meh. Lot of places nearby that offer views and a more 'shore-like' experience. The music in dining room is way too loud. They play 50's music, which is fine but not at 11. One can only take 'Buttercup' so much at this decibel.
