Cheese steak sub sandwiches have been one of my foundational flavor palettes since I was old enough to consistently hold a 6 inch sub and eat it in one sitting.
In the past I’ve been repeatedly willing to drive over 90 miles both ways to get an acceptable cheese steak when there’s none other closer to be had.
Phillys has blown away all of my expectations and reset my standards for cheese steak subs!
I’m now having to admit that I’m grateful the nearest location is about 20 minutes away, because I know I’d be eating there everyday if I was closer.
It can be good to have such tasty problems.🥳🫶🤤
Absolutely delicious subs Philly style best in the area! Great customer service from Robert and Ron very professional, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We tried the Philly bread with ice cream desert because of theses two hardworking associates who seem to really enjoy their jobs! We will be back, great black owned business to support...
Today, I tried Phillys A Taste of Philadelphia. I had the Doc and BBQ Chicken over Fries. Upon arriving, I notice Daym Drops filming inside of Phillys A Taste of Philadelphia. It was quiet busy. The young lady at the register was very helpful. The food came out fast and hot. The food was good and flavorful. There were no Togo menus available to take with you and you could not order in advance....the website used snack something was not working when I ordered.
Amazing place - Delicious food and friendly, helpful staff. We each had the Broad Street Bully and split an order of plain fries. My wife and I were born and raised in Philadelphia, a.k.a. Philly, so we know a lot about steak sandwiches. Philly's, A Taste Of Philadelphia is truly a Taste of Philly. In fact, they’re much better than most sandwich shops. Don’t go as a substitute for a visit to the great city of Philadelphia - go for their great food! The steak was cooked perfectly and the fries were the best we can recall. Our order was piping hot and fresh. Try the Phried Philly bread if you like cinnamon buns.
They import their rolls from Philadelphia because the roll plays a major role (pun intended) in making a high quality steak sandwich.
We visited New Haven last week and walked past this place on our way to a museum. On our way back we decided to stop in. When one of the owners came over and I told him we are from Philly we ended up getting into a long discussion about the different neighborhoods, etc. Philly has places with deep history when it comes to steak sandwiches with places such as Pat’s and Geno’s, which, I feel, are highly overrated in terms of quality. Although some Philly customers order their steak sandwiches “wit Whiz”, (with Cheese Whiz) I prefer real cheese to cheese sauce. American or Provolone can’t be beat.
Grab a few things sandwiches had that nice soft bun action. It was nice not having to drive 3 hrs for a good cheesesteak. Staff down to earth and very friendly got in and got out. The place is clean and they play some great music will definitely be back for more
