Came here for dinner on a Saturday night before seeing a show at the Palace Theater - it was also 2 days after Valentine's day. My complaint around that was they only had their Valentine's day menu, which had some of the items from the regular menu but everything was $1-$2 more expensive than the regular menu. Why?
Also, if you asked for the regular menu, they didn't provide it but said you could still ask for items from it. Which meant you had to look it up online (that's how we noticed the price increases).
Overall, it's a nice little place, very well decorated and our waitress was very friendly.
They start you off with bread and it was very good. There's also a dipping oil with roasted garlic in it - it took the bread to the next level.
For appetizers, we split the calamari. It's a pretty large serving but it tasted great.
For mains, I got the lamb. I love lamb. I always get lamb if it's on the menu. It came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The lamb itself was cooked to perfection and was very good but it was swimming in the sauce they provided and that ended up overwhelming the lamb. Less is more.
The mashed potatoes and asparagus were good.
My husband got the stuffed chicken - the waitress raved about it. She mentioned that the sauce was sweet and savory - both my husband and my brother-in-law order it. Neither one of them liked it - it was super sweet. Even the breading on the chicken seemed sweet. I have to agree - and the sweetness just stayed in your mouth. They did mention this to her, it's definitely not for everyone.
She was nice about it though and provided us with a complimentary slice of chocolate cake - that was pretty good.
Overall, it was ok. I'd be willing to try them again but not in a hurry.
Very nice atmosphere, good service, good menu with reasonable prices. Convenient location in downtown. Enjoyed the pork chops, they have a Prix fix menu that is very reasonably priced.
I can walk here in under 3 minutes. Very good restaurant to enjoy. Would for sure recommend
