Walked here from our hotel while staying in the area, absolutely loved it!! Fresh home cooked meal while out of town!! Staff was amazing, very friendly!! Will make special stop to eat if traveling that way!
Over priced for the small portions. I didn’t like how the food was packaged. The paper trays used to separate the food got wet and began to tear and appeared in my yams. Everything else was pretty good. I ordered smothered pork chop but I’m not sure if that was a smothered pork chop or what. The macaroni was not traditional it tasted like it had vanilla and cinnamon in it. It’s a ok soul food restaurant for Waterbury. I support black own business ✊????
Nothing fancy about this place, just good old-fashioned home cooked southern food like your Momma used to make! My wife had the bbq ribs with real potato salad, blackeyed peas and of course cornbread. I had fried chicken with blackeyed peas, collards and of course the cornbread. A nice peach cobbler for dessert and we were stuffed. Good sized portions, VERY reasonable prices. Staff is friendly and helpful. Not our first time there and definitely not our last. GO THERE!
It's a great soul food place with a family style atmosphere.
My go-to when I'm in Waterbury for lunch! It came highly recommended and it's no surprise why. Their food is always fresh and obvious a whole lot of heart was put into the creation of it. It's fantastic! I had the pulled pork, cabbage and corn pudding with a piece of dense, buttery pound cake for the road. Looking to try breakfast there soon!
