Stowe's Seafood

Great seafood and even better prices. I was very impressed with how quick the food was ready and you really can't beat the location. My only suggestion would be more seating inside (visited on a chilly night in March).

Typical fried seafood shack. A nice place for a quick bite during the summer. The boat specials (fish and fries) are really good however the stuffed shrimp was horrible. It was basically a shrimp stuffed with stove top stuffing. I'm glad that Stowes is still in business because its really the last business that's open in that area. Everything else is vacant or run down.

Stowe's is a tiny gem by the beach in West Haven. Last month, I had scallops at the pricey Shell and Bones by the water in New Haven. The dinner arrived smelling fishy with a gritty texture. Stowe's $12 dinner, meanwhile, (cash only) was succulent. Eight sea scallops, lightly fried with tartar sauce, and I wanted the meal to go on and on. It was so outstanding I actually had to call the owner, Wayne, and tell him how good it was. If you love scallops, this is the place to go. Superb every time!

I general I buy "to go" and I wait 15 min., but all the time everything is fresh and tasteful. It's one of our favorite place to buy sea food. Four seasons, 7 days a week.
