Skipper's Restaurant

If you are passing through (or near) Niantic, CT, get off the highway, and stop at Skippers. Sit outside, look out over the water, and enjoy the sea breeze, and the great food you are going to get. Go simple with the fresh fish sandwich. In addition to being very affordable, it is super tasty. I like to pair it with sweet potatoes fries. They are crispy. If you want something more, then go for the larger fried fish platter or the fried scallops. They are both fabulous. Skippers is open year around, so you can enjoy it on every trip.

Great place and friendly staff! The view is very nice, weather permitting. Fish and chips were great, but to be honest I would come back just for the clam chowder!

Very nice N.E. clam chowder. Obviously made with fresh clam juice and finished with the cream. Although a little light on substance, it made up for it in flavor. The chicken strips consisted of fresh chicken breasts sliced thin, breaded and fried. Real food...woowhoo! The hamburger was hot, fresh and juicy with piled high grilled onions..AWESOME! The onion rings made from thin sliced fresh sweet onions, breaded and fried, DELICIOUS

Amazing food. Clean restaurant. Friendly staff. We go here every time we go to the Book Barn. Usually We get the fish and chips, and the clam strip dinner. The fish is always fresh and top notch. The service is fast. Hard to find better quality food. Big portions of great food at a very reasonable price. You can sit inside or outside with a great view of the water and an occasional train.
