Ortega's Mexican Restaurant

I just moved to CT from VA, so I’ve been trying different places in the area. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. The staff is also very nice. However, the food is very bland. I thought the salsa was very watery. I’ll definitely be searching for better Mexican food in the future.

We had an appetizer platter and the choices were OK, but with limited flavor. I had the chicken chimichangas and once again nice texture but no flavor. The waitress was very pleasant but it was a slow night and I shouldn't have had to ask for a drink refill. Overall it was OK, but I don't think it was enough to bring me back in the door.

A very nice quiet ambiance with excellent food and easy on the pocketbook. Perfect place to bring the whole family. People couldn't be nicer. My husband had a classic margarita on the rocks and I had a frozen strawberry - both were great! I had chimichangas and my husband the beef enchiladas - both also excellent. We've been there before and we'll be there again!

This was the best Mexican food I've had in a long time. Everyone was so friendly, and I noticed that the waitresses don't ask how you're doing excessively which I appreciated. I ordered shrimp and chicken fajitas and it was perfect. The onions were nice and caramelized and the shrimp was tender. I also had a margarita that was perfectly balanced. The restaurant itself is decorated beautifully and they had vines attached across the ceiling. I really enjoyed myself and the homemade flan was to die for. I'm highly recommend eating here and I will definitely be going again.
