There is inside and outside seating right on the Thames Riverfront. The staff very friendly and professional. The pasta (homemade on site) is absolutely delicious in many different ways!! Make sure to check out their "Specials" board as they can be exciting. Mangia!!
So, Paul's is overrated by a lot of people in the area, this is because food in CT, especially this part of the state is.... not great. Don't get me wrong, it is not bad food by any means, the staff is great. If you want to dine in though especially during the summer pack supplies because the wait can be very, very, long. I'd recommend it, but be forewarned it's not at life changing as many of the locals claim.
Best Italian food i've had. I waited 20 minutes outside for a seat and would do it again in a heartbeat. Once we got seated we got drinks quickly and the food came out quickly and spot on. To this day I still think the best fried chicken I've ever had is on their chicken Alfredo. Couldn't recommend them enough if you want an amazing Italian experience.
I wish I could box this place up, put it in my pocket, and take it home with me. I came here two years ago while visiting a friend and made a great pilgrimage back the other day so I could bring my husband and share the delicious. All my hyping for the last two years paid off. It was just as good, if not better than two years ago. They have pasta making down to a science. Our meals came out at the perfect temperature and the fresh pasta was the star of the show. My husband looked at me wide-eyed and terrified when I told him I wished I could fill up a tub with the manicotti and eat my way through it. But I’m pretty sure he felt the same about his, even though he was embarrassed by my weird comment. The garlic bread was buttery, melt in the mouth goodness, with a perfect crunchy texture and they bring enough to feed the five thousand. We ended the meal with the fried cookie dough which was when my husband’s eyes really widened and he probably would’ve filled his own tub with it if he would just admit it.
Stopped in with girlfriends for lunch. Busy shop but friendly staff. Food prep smelled wonderful. I ordered the cheese lasagna & a small garden salad with the house dressing. The lasagna comes with garlic bread, both were amazing. The cheese was well placed, the pasta consistency was perfect, the tomato sauce was very tasty.
Gave a 4-star because the facility needs some work. The bathrooms weren't clean, the sidewalk/parking lot& building exterior were cluttered with debris, especially under the rear deck. It was very odd.
