Atomsphere, service, and decor are top notch!! However, the meatballs had too much of a flowery tone(too much sage?). The tuna tartare's sauce overpowered the fish. The pizza had great flavor but the crust was slighstly doughy. The margherita had cold cheese added at the end which is unusual. Small nit-picks to otherwise perfection. Lastly, this restaurant is a great compliment to Stone Row and a great addition to Willimantic's main street.
Great overall our hostess and server were very friendly and extremely attentive. Very cool inside with incredible ovens you can watch pizzas being made. The pizza was delicious all the ingredients are so fresh so you can really taste the sauce and distinct cheeses used. I added ricotta to my cheese pizza and wife had mushroom pizza. The crust has a nice little char in some spots from the powerful ovens. Definitely skilled pizza makers, I can’t wait to come back again soon.
This is a takeout review. Unfortunately, I decided to try out this place on a third Thursday in Willimantic. Through no fault of the establishment, there was no parking as main st was shut down as were some side streets. So it was quite a walk to get my food, and it wasn't as fresh as I like for my reviews. The meatballs were extremely enjoyable. A different texture from most but very tasty. And different is not bad, just different. I had two pizzas. The crust on both was very good, chewy, light, and fresh. The sauce on the pepperoni was a red sauce with great flavor. I also tried a lemon pizza and I was pleasantly surprised. A white sauce with actual lemon slices. A great choice for a summer pizza. On a scale from 0-10 I would rate this 8.5. And I believe it would have been higher if I could have eaten my food sooner. Again, no fault of the restaurant.
Great atmosphere and great pizza! I’m happy to have a restaurant 10 minutes from home that makes real pizza, not the usual Greek style that every other restaurant in town makes. Will definitely come more often.
Beautiful space with equally beautiful pizzas.
Excellent staff and table service even during busy times. We went when they were near capacity but the servers kept up as though we were their only table. On that note, the food also came out surprisingly fast given the bustle while still being perfectly prepared.
Their pies and dough are very good, and unique. They run a full wood fired oven at a high temp so the pies are infused with a subtle but really nice smoked flavor. Slices have really nice structure and crunch while maintaining just enough toothsome pull.
Their topping combos and ingredients are top notch. A few of the pies went a little sauce heavy for the thinness of the dough IMO (pepperoni) but were nonetheless delicious.
They have a really tasty red sauce too, it's malty and developed while still a bit tangy.
One hugely standout portion of their food is their fermented goods, from the pickled vegetables to the stellar fermented hot sauces. all of which are incredibly unique, thoughtfully made in house, and complement their food so well.
Overall I don't have much to nitpick about what i've had so far. it's within their own style and done very well. I'm really excited to have pizza this good in Willimantic.
Will definitely be going back to try the whole menu.
